Police reported a series of weekend interventions ranging from a drug-related arrest in Luxembourg City to extensive tuning checks at petrol stations in Leudelange and Sanem and a car park in Howald.

On Sunday evening, shortly before 10pm, a patrol noticed a man behaving suspiciously on Boulevard d'Avranches in Luxembourg City. Officers decided to stop him after his reaction on spotting the patrol raised concern.

According to the police report, the man refused to cooperate and was taken to the station, where officers discovered several packets of drugs in his possession. On orders from the public prosecutor, he was detained and brought before an investigating judge on Monday morning.

Traffic checks in Leudelange and Sanem

Two days earlier, on Friday afternoon, officers carried out targeted tuning inspections at petrol stations in Leudelange and in the Um Woeller zone near Sanem. The operation focused on vehicle documentation and technical modifications, with police verifying whether any alterations had been properly registered and legally compliant.

The results were clear: police issued no fewer than 32 reports, most commonly for unregistered modifications such as excessively loud exhaust systems or irregular number plates. Several vehicles were seized, including four cars with illegal modifications and a motorbike with defective tyres. One driver was found without a valid roadworthiness certificate, while another could not produce a valid driving licence.

Tuning gathering dispersed in Howald

The following evening, on Saturday, police were alerted to an unauthorised tuning meet at the P&R car park in Howald. Several patrols were dispatched to the site, where they found a number of vehicles. Three cars were found with irregular paperwork, leading to reports being filed. The gathering was quickly dispersed.
