Between Sunday evening and Monday morning, two motorists in Rumelange and Remich lost their licences after drink-driving accidents and attempted getaways, while in Pétange another banned driver was caught drunk at the wheel with no valid vehicle papers, leading to the seizure of his car.

On Sunday evening around 9pm, police were called to a collision between two cars in Rue du Cimetière in Rumelange, where one of the drivers had driven off. A patrol quickly tracked him down. Because he had fled and was found to be over the alcohol limit, his licence was withdrawn.

Overnight, in Rue Enz in Remich, another intoxicated driver damaged a parked car before attempting to escape. He too was soon located and had his licence taken away.

Meanwhile, on the Schwaarze Wee in Pétange, officers stopped a motorist during the same night who was already under a driving ban. In addition, he had no valid documents for the vehicle and was over the alcohol limit. On the orders of the public prosecutor, the car was seized and the driver charged.
