Shortly before midnight on Friday, a gunshot was reported on Rue de Bonnevoie in the Bonnevoie neighbourhood of Luxembourg City. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles flee the scene shortly after the shot was fired.
Around the same time, a person with a superficial gunshot wound arrived at the emergency department of a Luxembourg City hospital. Authorities later confirmed the injury was linked to the incident.
The relationship between the victim and the perpetrator remains unclear and is under investigation.
Police identified one of the drivers involved in the fleeing vehicles and conducted a search of their residence. The operation led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and cash. The individual was subsequently arrested on orders from the public prosecutor’s office.
Authorities confirmed that investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
