Luxembourg City Council has issued a warning about "SCAN AND PAY" QR code stickers placed on parking meters in the capital which display a fake website impersonating the official parking operator, Indigo Neo.

According to a press release from the Luxembourg City Council, residents and visitors are warned about fraudulent stickers that are labeled "SCAN AND PAY" with a QR code. The stickers direct users to a fake website impersonating the official parking operator, Indigo Neo and prompts users to share personal information, posing a risk of phishing scams. This has been a recurring issue with a similar situation happening in November of 2024.

The City reminds the public that the only allowed digital method to pay on-street parking charges is through the official Indigo Neo mobile application. This app requires users to download it to their mobile device and create an account.

Any alternative payment methods displayed on machines are unofficial and should be avoided. Legitimate instructions, signed by Indigo Neo, are located on the side of each machine to guide users in making secure payments.

City authorities are actively removing the illegal stickers as quickly as possible and have lodged a formal complaint with the Grand Ducal Police to address the issue.
