The €9.2 million Syrdall police station in Niederanven was officially inaugurated on Monday, serving five surrounding municipalities with modern, citizen-friendly facilities.

Government officials on Monday formally inaugurated the new Syrdall police station. Located on Rue de Trèves in Niederanven, the station's purview includes Niederanven, Betzdorf, Contern, Schuttrange, and Sandweiler.

Works on the new building started in September 2021, and the station has been operational for three weeks, allowing officers to get accustomed to the new site.

During the inauguration, Home Affairs Minister Léon Gloden underlined the importance of providing the police with "modern working conditions," while Alain Engelhardt, the deputy managing director of the police, described the building as "open and friendly to citizens and officers alike."

Costs for the new Syrdall station amounted to €9.2 million.
