On Thursday morning, the police received information from Belgian officials about a car which was stolen in Belgium, yet the culprit was heading towards Luxembourg.

The stolen vehicle is supposed to have been heading from Arlon to Luxembourg. The Luxembourgish police force was able to quickly detect and chase the car on highway A6 in direction of the city centre,.

The police stopped the vehicle near the exit Mamer/Cappelle. As the officials were climbing out of their cars, the driver drove over a dividing wall and continued their escape.

Shortly afterwards, the car was found without its driver. The ensuing search for the driver was unsuccessful as well. The public prosecutor's office nevertheless ordered the stolen vehicle to be seized.
