Following the successful referendum campaign launched by Bettendorf residents, their neighbours in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre may potentially also be heading to the polls to express their opinion on the Nordstad merger.
The residents of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre may soon be asked to vote on the proposed Nordstad merger.
Local councillor Laurent Lacour submitted a related request, which will be discussed on Thursday. Lacour argues that a referendum on the Nordstad project should be held now, instead of the originally proposed date of 2027.

A similar referendum will be held in the municipality of Bettendorf, after a Citizens' Initiative collected enough signatures to cross the threshold for a referendum to take place in the next three months.
