The social sector continues to feel a negative impact from the Caritas affair, with voluntary organisations across the country noting dwindling donations.
The organisation 'Street Angels' (Stroossen-Englen), which travels across the Grand Duchy in minivans to distribute food to socially vulnerable residents, has noted a severe halt in donations since the Caritas affair.
"Considering we don't receive any fixed financial support from the government, we rely on sponsors and donations, which recently have stopped coming in," says Jean-Luc Lauer of the ASBL.
To him, the cause is clear: the Caritas affair has severely damaged trust in aid organisations and consequently put a halt to donations.
