This week, Luxembourg's secondary schools welcome 53,700 students back to the classroom, with first-year secondary students returning on Tuesday and nearly 6,000 teachers ready to guide them through the new academic year.
Phase two of Luxembourg's staggered start to the 2024/2025 academic year kicks off on Tuesday as first-year students in secondary education are heading back to their classrooms. Those in primary education already returned on Monday, and the rest of the country will follow tomorrow as per tradition.
A total of 53,700 pupils will fill the halls of Luxembourg's high schools this year. The Lycée Technique du Centre in Limpertsberg alone will accommodate 2,200 young minds, the highest rate in the Grand Duchy.
5,982 teachers, of whom 55% are women, will be teaching in Luxembourg's secondary education this year.
