A 27-year-old motorcyclist lost her life in a collision with a bus on Saturday afternoon in northern Luxembourg.

The accident occurred at around 12.30pm on the CR327 between Mecher and Weicherdange, near the Upper Sûre Lake. The motorcyclist, a Dutch national, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The public prosecutor's office has tasked the forensic police with investigating the exact cause of the accident.

Following the incident, the road was temporarily closed to traffic.
