On Friday evening, a police officer was injured during a routine patrol in Ettelbruck after instructing a motorist to leave a delivery zone.
The incident occurred around 5pm on Rue Prince Henri. Officers had asked a motorist to move her car out of the delivery zone. While checking the other occupants of the car, officers detected the smell of cannabis, according to a police report released on Saturday. One of the passengers then became "angry and very aggressive."
At one point, the passenger slammed his door shut, injuring an officer whose arm was caught between the door and the car. Despite significant resistance, the passenger was quickly immobilised and handcuffed.
However, the handcuffs did not entirely restrain the man. Inside the police car, he continued to act violently, hitting the sliding door until it fell off its track.
Following orders from the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested. The car, along with money and drugs, was seized.
