The food inspectorate has announced that traces of E.coli bacteria have been found in Auchan's Cantal Entre-Deux AOP cheese. Consumers therefore should have themselves examined by a doctor.
The bacteria Escherichia coli O26:H11 can cause a possible haemorrhagic gastroenteritis within a week of consumption, with or without fever. In young children, this can even lead to severe kidney complications.
