Two intoxicated individuals required police intervention on Friday evening, while 14 driving licences were confiscated during alcohol checks at Colmar-Berg Bridge.

At around 10.15pm on Friday, a highly intoxicated person was reported to be causing a disturbance in the accident and emergency department of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) in Kirchberg. A police patrol responded and located the individual, who refused to calm down and resisted the officers’ instructions. Following a medical examination, the person was taken into custody.

Then, at around 10.40pm, police received a report of a highly intoxicated individual at the “Stadion” tram stop. The person was allegedly being verbally aggressive towards passers-by and had to be restrained by a security guard. Officers at the scene confirmed that the individual was under the influence of alcohol, disturbing the peace, and posing a danger to themselves. Following a medical assessment, the person was also taken into custody.

In addition, police carried out alcohol checks at two locations – on the N7 and on the A7 at Colmar-Berg Bridge. A total of 1,509 motorists were stopped, 44 breathalyser tests came back positive, and 14 driving licences were confiscated.
