Police were called out to Val de Hamm on Wednesday night as a woman claimed she was being beaten up by two men.
Officers pulled over a car with four passengers on Boulevard Général S. Patton, where the woman claimed the incident had taken place.
However, further investigation revealed she had not been assaulted, but instead had an argument with one of the men. During the conversation, an officer noticed she was visibly intoxicated but had been driving in spite of her drunkenness.
A breathalyser test confirmed the officer's suspicions and the woman compelled to hand over her licence. A provisional driving ban was issued.
It later transpired it was not her first alcohol-related offence. The public prosecutor's office also ordered the car to be seized.
