A new concept has arrived in Luxembourg City's Gare neighbourhood with the opening of "Muum," a 100% alcohol-free bar that has been operating as a pop-up for several weeks.

Raphaël Betti, manager of Muum, views this venture as a trial run. Notably, Betti, recognised for his award-winning bar "B.A.C." on Rue Vauban, brings his expertise to Muum. The Luxembourg mixologist and former assistant manager of Paname seeks to challenge the notion that alcohol is necessary for a good time. Muum, named as a tribute to Betti's mother who abstains from alcohol, aims to cater to those who prefer not to drink or wish to consume less.

Occupying the former site of Café Florence, Muum's location on Rue Adolphe Fischer was chosen deliberately. Betti, in collaboration with Kelsey Todter, the former manager of Café Florence, opted to utilise the space as a pop-up for six months to test the concept in the area.

The bar's unique concept has garnered attention, attracting a diverse clientele. Betti notes the interest from both non-drinkers and those seeking alternatives to traditional alcoholic beverages. At Muum, the focus is on crafting innovative and enjoyable drinks that cater to various tastes and preferences.

The menu at Muum features a range of options, including mocktails that mimic classic cocktails as well as original creations. For instance, one standout drink is the "Wine Muum," resembling white wine and crafted by clarifying grapefruit juice, infusing it with grapefruit skins, and combining it with a non-alcoholic gin infused with a variety of peppers.

With mocktail prices ranging from €10 to €13, Muum welcomes guests from Wednesday to Saturday, from 4pm to 10pm.
