The operation was designed to target the illegal dumping of waste.

In total, 203 vehicles were checked. On the Luxembourgish side of the border, seven drivers were forced to pay fines worth €250 apiece as they did not possess licences to transport waste.

On the French side, one motorist was fined €150.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of the Environment, the vehicles were mostly found to be transporting building waste, cardboard, electric cables or metal.
