Six pupils in their penultimate year of study recently won the prize for 'best mini-enterprise in Luxembourg'.
Six pupils from Lycée Arts et Métiers won out against 89 other young entrepreneurs at the 'Joint Sale of Mini-Enterprises' competition, organised by the Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg and the Belle Etoille shopping centre last month. RTL caught up with the students to learn a bit more about their product, which at first glance looks like nothing more than a block of aluminium. However, upon closer inspection, you might notice that their product is indeed a small barbecue.
The students believe that most barbecues that can be bought in the shops are either too big or don't fulfil their purpose, which is why they decided to develop their own barbecue mechanism. After a few months, the barbecue was finally ready to go into production.
It was important to the group that the product be manufactured in Luxembourg — so, at the metalworking shop in Berbourg, the grills are cut out of aluminium using a special laser.
They add that, beyond the 'made in Luxembourg' label, Grillsquare also has a message: young people should spend a bit more time outdoors in nature and little less time in front of a screen.
