Given the architectural complexity and cultural importance of the cathedral in Luxembourg City, a major simulation exercise was planned with the country's professional fire brigade this week.

On Friday, professional firefighters were confronted with a simulated roof fire caused by construction work on the cathedral, which was built in 1613.

The different groups also had to rescue a construction worker and various cultural treasures from the fire.
