Météolux has placed southern Luxembourg on yellow alert from midnight to 11am on Tuesday, as temperatures are set to plummet overnight.

On Sunday, frigid conditions were already felt across the Grand Duchy as temperatures plummeted below 0°C, resulting in light snow blanketing parts of the country. On Monday, temperatures fluctuated between -3 and 3°C.

The worst is yet to come on Tuesday, when the mercury is expected to drop to -8°C, which will feel even colder with the accompanying gusts of up to 50km/h.

Wednesday until Friday will remain freezing too, with highs of 3°C during the day and lows of -6°C at night, dropping back to around -7°C by Saturday.

This means only one thing: bundle up tightly before heading outside next week!
