In a press release issued on Tuesday morning, the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) declared that bus routes catering to specific industrial and steel-making sites in Luxembourg would not be discontinued, at least for the time being.
"The new minister has assumed her responsibilities," the trade union emphasised in its press release. Minister for Mobility Yuriko Backes has decided to maintain these bus routes "for the time being,"
Approximately 800 daily commuters using these routes, which connect to significant sites such as Goodyear, ArcelorMittal, and CFL Multimodal, stand to benefit from the continued service, as the routes were initially slated for cuts due to cost considerations.
The LCGB expressed its willingness to collaborate with the ministry to seek a viable and sustainable solution that aligns with the interests of the affected employees.
