Luxembourg police were active on multiple fronts Monday, apprehending suspects in incidents involving drugs, shoplifting, and a knife threat.
The police made several arrests on Monday in a series of incidents in Luxembourg City and Rodange.
At around 10.20pm, an individual fled upon seeing officers on patrol in the Gare neighbourhood. After a brief pursuit, the person was apprehended near the railway tracks, where police discovered a small quantity of drugs. The suspect was taken into custody on the orders of the public prosecutor's office.
Earlier that day, police responded to a report of shoplifting near a store in the Cloche d'Or neighbourhood. Officers apprehended two suspects at the scene and recovered the stolen items, which were returned to the shop. Both individuals were fined.
In a separate incident at around 11pm near Rodange station, police intercepted a visibly intoxicated person who was threatening passers-by with a knife. The aggressive individual was subdued and, following a medical check, placed in a police cell. The knife was confiscated, and the person was issued with a fine.
