National weather service MeteoLux has issued a yellow alert, from 8pm tonight, warning that significant rainfall is expected, with the south of the country being placed on yellow alert for flooding.
From Tuesday evening at 8pm until Wednesday evening at 11.59pm, heavy showers are forecast. Between 30 and 40 litres per square metre, and locally even more, could fall over the next 24 hours.
The south of Luxembourg has now been placed under a yellow flood alert.
According to the latest meteorological reports, there is a potential risk of flooding. Updates will be issued should the situation change.
