At least two accidents brought traffic to a standstill on the A4 motorway towards Esch on Tuesday afternoon, one of the busiest routes in the country.

The Automobile Club Luxembourg (ACL) confirmed that the collisions occurred during the rush hour. By 4.30pm, the resulting tailback had already stretched for more than seven kilometres.

One accident took place at the Lankelz junction towards the A13, while another was reported on the A4 between Pontpierre and Foetz. According to initial reports, a secondary collision also occurred within the traffic jam leading to the junction.
