When demonstrators gathered at Place de Paris in the capital on Saturday to protest against the Syrian regime, people outside of the event made several provocations, according to police. The situation is said to have escalated when two people on a motorcycle rode through the crowd, lightly injuring an elderly woman in the process.
A brawl subsequently erupted and another person was wounded with a knife.
Police were able to identify the culprits behind the provocations and issued fines.
