The 22-year-old motorcyclist from Paderborn in Germany was driving from Mompach to Mertert when he lost control over his vehicle in a right turn. He fell and collided with the crash barrier.
Emergency services from Grevenmacher-Mertert and Echternach were sent to the scene to provide assistance. However, first responders were unable to reanimate the man.
The prosecutor’s office has since ordered an autopsy and the motorcycle has been seized. A forensics team was deployed to the scene to analyse the crash site. The CR141 had to be closed to traffic as a consequence.
