As per tradition, unions organise festivities on Labour Day while local associations and clubs decorate their home towns with wreaths of green foliage, commonly known in Luxembourg as the 'Meekranz' ('May Wreath').
The Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) will hold its Labour Day festivities at Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg City. The Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) has meanwhile decided to organise an event at the Esplanade in Remich.
OGBL president Nora Back and LCGB president Patrick Dury will both speak at 10.30am.
