
On Tuesday, police apprehended a burglar who broke into a restaurant near Findel Airport.
The break-in was reported to the police at around 4.20pm on Tuesday. The man had broken into a restaurant on Rue de Trèves near Findel Airport.
When the police arrived on the scene, they assumed that the culprit might still be inside the building, which was indeed the case. The officers managed to surround and immobilise the burglar in the restaurant.
The suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and presented to an examining magistrate on Wednesday. The judge issued an arrest warrant for the man, who was then remanded in custody at the Ueschterhaff Prison in Sanem.
Other burglaries
The police also report that a single-family house in Rue Principale in Lentzweiler was the target of a burglary on Tuesday between 11am and 8pm. The perpetrator(s) gained entry by breaking through a window at the back of the house, before searching the entire premises and stealing valuables, including men's watches. Fingerprints were taken at the scene and an investigation opened.
