On Sunday, Grand Duke Henri travelled to Latvia for a four-day state visit, which he undertakes in the context of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Baltic state and Luxembourg.

The monarch is being accompanied by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Jean Asselborn, for whom it is the first trip abroad since recovering from an illness-related spell at the hospital.

According to a statement, the delegation further features Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot, as well as an “an economic delegation made up of representatives of promising sectors of the Luxembourg economy (digital economy, sustainability, wood industry)”.

During the visit, the Luxembourgish delegation will meet with several local officials, including Egils Levits, President of the Republic of Latvia.
