Former Minister for the Environment Carole Dieschbourg has been authorised to “take all possible measures to bring the truth to light.” This was announced by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Fernand Etgen, on Tuesday afternoon following a Chamber session on the preliminary investigation into the ‘Garden Shed Affair.’
59 MPs voted to pass the resolution.
This means that the former minister can now testify in court, but also that her home may be searched or that she may be required to cooperate in the gathering of expert evidence. The resolution also allows for a pre-trial judicial investigation.
The resolution will be shared with the State Prosecutor General before the end of the day.
