Two bartenders surprised a would-be burglar shortly before 3am as he was attempting to force his way into their workplace on Rue de Bonnevoie, Luxembourg City.
The suspect then tried to flee the scene after the discovery, but fell 4-5 metres down to the Rocade de Bonnevoie, suffering injuries in the process.
He received first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment. An official police complaint has been filed against the individual.
Another burglary was reported on Thursday evening after a Sprinkange resident found his house on Route de Longwy had been broken into over the course of the afternoon.
The perpetrator forced their way into the house at some point between 12.30pm and 9.45pm, searching all rooms and taking several valuable items from the premises.
An investigation is underway, with forensics teams searching the house for evidence.
