A fatal work accident occurred at a construction site in Ell on Thursday afternoon.
According to initial reports, a worker who was in a pit several metres deep was buried under a large quantity of earth.
The 55-year-old man from southern Luxembourg was already dead when rescue workers arrived.
The public prosecutor's office ordered the forensic police to launch an investigation. The Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM) was also informed.
