Train traffic in northern Luxembourg has been disrupted since late Wednesday morning following the discovery of a World War II-era bomb.

CFL just confirmed the gradual resumption of train traffic from 4.15pm onwards, although some delays and cancellations may still occur.

A "World War II-era bomb" was discovered near the Burden tunnel, according to the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL). The bomb disposal service is currently on site to secure the area after the alert was issued between 11am and 11.30am.

Train traffic between Ettelbruck and Goebelsmuehle is currently disrupted in both directions. The CFL cannot say when traffic will resume at this time.

The railway company has set up a replacement bus service. These buses run between Ettelbruck and Goebelsmuehle.
