This marks the 28th law to regulate Covid protection measures since the beginning of the pandemic.
The current measures will be loosened with the new law, based on the moderate incidence rate. With only 10 articles, it is a relatively short text, mostly because nearly all sanitary restrictions have been removed.
It is noteworthy that the bill's authors from the Ministry of Health indicate that further vaccine boosters will be necessary in autumn to help prevent an increase in winter.
The most important change is the dropped mask mandate in almost all locations, including at work and schools. It remains only on public transport.
If an event organiser wants to adhere to stricter measures, including CovidCheck, they are free to do so, said Paulette Lenert.
3G remains in effect at CIPAs and hospitals for employees, contractors and visitors. The prison and retention centre also continue to have a special regime in place.
For sporta and leisure as well as shops and supermarkets, the restrictions are replaced by recommendations.
Anyone tested positive still needs to isolate. This can be lifted after two negative rapid tests within 24 hours.
The government also maintains that specific vaccine mandates may be introduced if experts agree.
It's not yet clear when the new law will be voted. It may be as early as this week. The new regulations will be in place until at least 30 June.
