
A total of 5,641 novel infections were recorded last week. This means that the number of active infections is steadily increasing, recently from 2,961 at the end of last year to 8,448 at the beginning of 2022. The average age for positively tested people is 33.9 years.
Last week, 3,111 people received their first shot of a coronavirus vaccine, 2,341 the second one. This means that now 445,000 people are fully vaccinated, representing a rate of 80.4% of eligible reisdents.
8,122 people were forced to isolate last week, an increase of 35% compared to the last seven days. However, at the same time, 2,540 people were forced to quarantine, a decrease of 21%.
47 people were hospitalised with Covid-19 last week. Their average age decreased from 61 to 56. 22 of the hospitalised patients were unvaccinated, 25 of them however fully. 14 out of 20 ICU patients were not vaccinated.
Five people died following a coronavirus infection last week. Close to 96,000 people meanwhile count as recovered. 151 people called in to register positive rapid tests, more than twice as many as the week before.
The incidence rate increased substantially across all age groups: 37% for 0-14-year-olds, 182% for people aged 75 and older, and 178% for people aged 15 to 29. Most new infections still occur in family circles (32.8%), followed by travel abroad (10.5%).
