One of the most significant changes will be the introduction of the 2G rule in restaurants, cafés, and clubs, starting at midnight on Friday. The same rule will further apply to sport and culture if people gather in groups larger than ten. Tests will no longer be accepted, except in the case of staff. Children aged 12-15 will not be included in the 2G check; instead they will have to complete a 3G check (showing proof of a negative test).
To reduce the risk of fraudulent passes being circulated and used, people may now be asked to show their ID upon completing the CovidCheck system.
Certified rapid tests are only valid for 24 hours, while PCR tests remain valid for 48.
The CovidCheck system will come into effect at the workplace at 15 January.
CGFP issued a press release on Thursday morning to demand an “immediate stop of all hard sanctions”. The union only agreed to the government’s proposed 3G system with the condition that employees who fail to comply will not have to fear disciplinary fines or even risk being let go.
The union further underlines that there is no tolerance for people who bully their coworkers for not being vaccinated.
Furthermore, different administrations seem to have diverging interpretations of home office regulations, which is why clearer and unified rules have to be issued.
