Government, unions, and employers convened at the Senningen Castle on Monday to discuss the problems caused by the ongoing pandemic.

The Minister of State made it clear that the demands from the social partners have been heard and that they will be forwarded to the respective authorities.

Since the discussion process in the individual commissions is expected to take time, some decisions were already taken to avoid low-income families suffering unnecessarily.

Partial unemployment will thus be prolonged until February 2022 in all sectors considered "vulnerable and dependent on the handling of the pandemic". The same will apply to relaunch aides and those for uncovered costs.

Partial unemployment rates are set to remain at 80% of gross income and will be limited to 250% of the minimum wage. The government further underlined that the aid cannot be lower than the minimum wage.

Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot also announced that new aids will be given out to companies to help them in their green transition.

All parties agreed to meet again within the span of six months.
