First invitations are expected to be sent out by the end of the week.

The Superior Council for Infectious Diseases has issued a new recommendation, after which Janssen vaccine recipients are to receive an mRNA booster shot at least four weeks after the initial jab. The decision was taken jointly with the Government Council on Friday.

So far, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was the only one-shot option on the market with approval from the European Medicines Agency. To this day, around 13 million doses have been administered across the EU.

First invitations for an mRNA vaccine dose are expected to be sent out by the end of the week.
