Luxembourg’s Large Scale Testing programme ended on 15 September.
In an interview on Thursday morning, Dr Thomas Dentzer told RTL that the Ministry of Health would compile the figures relating to the scheme, ahead of a final cost evaluation of the project.
In addition, Dr Dentzer confirmed in the interview that the ministry has requested an independent evaluation of the Large Scale Testing campaign, making use of independent experts from other countries. This report will examine the efficacy of the project in terms of public health, as well as its impact on the handling of the pandemic.
PCR tests will continue to be administered following GP prescriptions, while mobile testing teams will continue to target areas of the country, with a focus on care and nursing homes.
