According to information obtained by RTL, Minister of Education Claude Meisch made these statements during a meeting with trade union representatives.
The Minister does not want to introduce a general test obligation, such as the one currently in force in the German federal state of Saarland. Meisch argued that this would potentially be to the detriment of socially disadvantaged children.
The Minister allegedly also decided against the installation of air filtration systems, stating that normal ventilation of the classrooms is "enough".
The CovidCheck system could, if at all, only be applied in scenarios 1 to 4, i.e. when there is one or more cases of coronavirus within a class. However, a final decision on this matter is still pending.
The trade unions were informed.
It is expected that the definitive measures will be passed by the State Council on Wednesday and presented at 2pm on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert will already hold a press conference on the general Covid-19 measures from 15 September.
