The events took place on Thursday evening in rue Emile Mark in Differdange where two men were attacked by a group of assailants.
On several occasions, the unidentified men tried to steal their mobile phones, but the victims managed to defend themselves until one smartphone was stolen by one of the culprits. They then fled in the direction of the local railway station.
The victims were slightly injured in the incident, as the police reported in their statement on Friday morning. The perpetrators were wearing sweatpants, jackets, masks, and dark gloves.
Police officers also had to intervene in rue de l'Industrie in Rodange where a suspicious driving car attracted the attention of a patrol. After hitting the scaffolding of a construction site located along the road, the police stopped the driver who had consumed too much alcohol to drive. They were issued a driving ban.
