Last week police carried out 430 checks to ensure compliance with the curfew and other restrictions in the fight against Covid-19.
Police issued a total of 18 penalty notices and submitted reports to the competent authorities. Most of these cases involved minors who had not complied with the sanitary measures currently in place.
Some 190 people were fined, in three quarters of the cases for not respecting the curfew between 9pm and 6am.
At around 5pm on 6 January, a gathering of several people was reported to the police in a forest between Bridel and Strassen. When the police arrived on site, they found that the individuals were not social distancing, consumed alcohol on public roads and did not wear face masks. All eight concerned were fined.
