Starting Monday and for the next two weeks, the tram will run the new route between Place de l'Étoile and the central station without passengers.

The test phase of the new section between Place de l'Étoile and Luxembourg station began on 5 October. Engineers from Luxtram and CAF, the company that built the tram, have been performing a range of tests on gauging, super-condensator performance, signalling, and the electrical system.

The final phase will begin on Monday with the so-called "marche à blanc", where the tram runs under the same conditions as if it were already transporting passengers, but empty. This allows tram drivers to familiarise themselves with the new route, but will also help motorists, bus drivers and pedestrians to get used to the tram on the streets.
