The initiative has helped low-income families participate in the country's cultural life for 10 years.
Article 27 of the convention of human rights notes that "every citizen has a right to participate in the cultural sphere of life". However, doing so can be rather costly, which is why a number of associations came together 10 years ago to counteract the problem.
The meeting resulted in the foundation of the association "Cultur'all", which has to date been cooperating with around 300 social partners and cultural institutions across the Grand Duchy.
Holders of the "Culture Passport" can access museums for free, while only having to pay €1.50 for theatre, ballet, or concert seats.
Cultur'all and the ministry for culture will celebrate the 10th anniversary year of the passport from 1 to 10 October.
Over the period of ten days, several activities will be organised across the country from which passport holders can benefit.
The launch of the initiative took place on Thursday in front of the museum for history and art. The final event will meanwhile take place at Neumünster Abbey.
