The series of personnel switches at court continues.

Gilio Fonck is currently the head of representation at the national EU commission, a post formerly occupied by the current marshal of the court Yuriko Backes. Our colleagues from Reporter.lu announced the switch on Friday on their website, further conveying that Fonck also acted as the president of the league of young democrats JDL.

The nomination will come into effect on 1 September and be accompanied with the appointment of a new councillor to the Grand Duke, namely Marc Baltes. He will thereby replace Michel Heintz, who "left the court on his own terms", as Reporter.lu notes. Baltes previously worked in the cabinet of Minister of State Xavier Bettel as an advisor.

Both appointments were the result of a consultation between the minister of state and Grand Duke Henri.
