On Thursday evening, the government announced the number of confirmed cases in the Grand Duchy had reached 26 - this figure was revised to 34 on Friday.

The Ministry of Health made the announcement at Thursday evening's press conference. One of the cases is a 94 year old man in critical condition.

Thursday saw 12 new confirmed cases, two of which were due to local transmission.

Another case was reported at the Kirchberg hospital, which sparked a number of additional precautionary measures at the hospital, including sanitary tents at the entrance and the closure of the car park to the public.

The Prime Minister announced that hospital visitors were now prohibited.
