The water levels have been increasing very quickly overnight. Over the past twelve hours, the Alzette in Steinsel has risen by more than one metre.

The Sûre in Diekirch is also getting higher.

The water levels of the Chiers in Petange had risen to 1.99 metres at 7 am on Monday, having been at 40 cm on Sunday evening.

CGDIS’s Christopher Schuh told RTL that the authorities are on standby for flooding. Some 6,000 sandbags have been prepared in fire brigades around the country.
