Weekly report67.8% of new Covid cases were unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated

The number of new cases per week thus declined by 4%. 375 of the positive cases came down to people who were either unvaccinated or not yet fully vaccinated. The average age of patients remained 32 years. 1,289 people had to isolate last week (+4%), while 926 had to quarantine (+13%).

A third of new cases caught the virus from family members, 20% got infected on holiday, 7% during leisure activities, and 4% in schools. In 33.5% of cases, no infection origin could be determined.

Last week, ten Covid-19 patients were treated in intensive care units, none of whom had been vaccinated. 29 new patients had to be hospitalised, with 85.8% of them not being vaccinated. The average age of hospital patients declined from 60 to 47. Two more people died in relation with the coronavirus.

The reproduction rate declined to 1.00, while the incidence rate for 100,000 citizens per seven days decreased from 90 to 87 cases. Water analyses in the country’s purification plants showed higher virus residue, but rates are expected to stabilise.

By the end of last week, a total of 398,431 people had been fully vaccinated. 3,415 people received the first shot, 2,598 the second one, and 57 people a third one.
