The man and some of his friends went swimming in the lake. A large search operation was launched, involving the police, fire fighters, and frogmen from the Luxembourg Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
Divers were unfortunately only able to recover the lifeless body of the 22-year old man from Luxembourg City.
An investigation has been opened and an autopsy requested to uncover the exact circumstances of the man's death.
