Using a smartphone whilst driving is a no-no that almost everyone is familiar with. One bus driver apparently did not get the memo, and was caught watching videos while driving.
To watch videos on your smartphone while being responsible for a whole busload of people can only be considered the height of irresponsibility. One bus driver did so, but may not have realised that his passengers would frown on this behaviour and film him doing so.
The passenger who filmed the below video was on a bus near Troisvierges and caught the driver watching a film whilst driving. The passenger told RTL that his partner had already witnessed the same bus driver using his phone while driving, which is why he decided to film the driver in the act and upload the video to Facebook.
The bus company, Autobus Stephany, released a press statement after the video circulated on social media. The company condemned their employee's acts and confirmed that he had been let go as a consequence.
The company is also investigating the issue internally and there may be legal consequences, as the man did not respect the Highway Code.
