The government has confirmed that there's "concrete evidence" of the presence of a wolf in the north of the country.

On Monday, the Nature Conservation Agency of Luxembourg had found a dead sheep in the town of Fouhren and after initial examination, they say that the possibility that it was attacked by a wolf “cannot be ruled out”.

Samples from the bite wounds have been sent to the
Senckenberg institute in Germany for further analysis.

The wolf made its return in the Grand Duchy in July 2017, after an absence of 124 years. If the test results are positive, it would be the second wolf attack within less than a year.
